fly away

Round, a vibrant blue. Solidity clashing against the earth tones of twigs;

Miscellaneous items thrown together to make a home, a place to rest: safely.

Chirping, feeding off worms and insects, surrounded by chaos.

Sprouting soon, nubs, prospering into something more;

Here lies the capability of becoming something.

Branches elongate; seconds turn into minutes, days into years.

Every surrounding is changing, growing, leaving.

Silky feathers develop, beautifying what was once simple.

Standing at the edge, beak pointed down,

Claws engraved in the bark, contemplating on letting go.

Lengthy wings are expanded. A silent jump.

Soaring, letting the wind guide the way, while singing a melodious tune.

Chains are broken; free at last. Fly away, fly away.
